Four systems, one page

Each system looks at a person from a different angle. Seeing them together is the point.

  • Saju

Four pillars for the year, month, day and hour of birth, each a pair of characters. You see the chart and a count of the five elements across its eight characters. You also see what your Day Master, the upper character of the day pillar, is said to suggest.

  • Star sign

The zodiac sign the Sun was in when you were born, worked out from the exact time of birth, which matters on the days when the Sun changes sign.

  • 16 types

If you already know your four-letter type, add it. We do not run a personality test. Your type is then set beside the other three.

  • Tarot

One card a day from the 22 Major Arcana, drawn at random and not based on your birth details. It is shown as a typographic card of our own design.

Then the four are read together

Where the systems agree, where they pull in different directions and why that contrast may be worth a moment's thought. You also get a profile card to save or post. It shows your Day Master, star sign, type and card of the day. It does not show your birth date, time or city. The Privacy Policy explains what someone could still work out from it.

What is Saju?

Saju (사주, "four pillars") is a traditional way of reading a birth moment. It belongs to the four-pillar tradition shared across East Asia, known as BaZi in Chinese and Shichū suimei in Japanese. SajuNstar presents it as it is practiced in Korea.

A chart has four pillars: year, month, day and hour. Each pillar pairs one of ten Heavenly Stems with one of twelve Earthly Branches, and each of those belongs to one of five elements: Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal and Water. Each stem is also Yang, the outward-facing side, or Yin, the inward-gathering side. The stem of the day pillar is called the Day Master and is read as standing for the person the chart belongs to.

The chart is calculated, not guessed

The year and month pillars change at exact astronomical moments, called solar terms. Time zones have also changed many times over the last century. The solar-term moments are computed in advance with standard astronomical routines and stored in a table. The time-zone history comes from the IANA time zone database and is stored as a table too. Fixed code on your device looks your birth moment up in those tables.

We check that code against published observatory solar-term times for 2026 to 2028 and against several independent open-source calculators. "Checked" describes the calculation only. The reading itself is interpretation.

  • Day and hour pillars use local mean time at the birthplace: time set by its longitude, not by the time-zone clock.
  • Births within a few minutes of a boundary get a notice instead of a silent guess.
  • If you do not know the birth time, you still get three pillars, and we say which parts could change.
  • For births before 1970, time-zone records are less complete. We mark those charts.

The 2027 Year Report

USD 9

One-time payment. No subscription.

Not on sale yet. Sales open once checkout and report production are ready.

A written reading of your year, from January 1, 2027, to early February 2028 (Ipchun, the solar term that opens the Saju year), in six parts.

  1. Your chart at a glance
  2. The themes of 2027
  3. The year in fourteen periods that follow the Saju months
  4. Relationships, work, money habits and daily rhythm
  5. A cross-reading with your star sign and type
  6. How to read it, and what it is not

For each period, the report names the stem and branch the calendar gives it and describes the themes the tradition links to that pairing for your Day Master. It does not say what will happen, and it gives no dates for events.

  • About 1,500 to 2,500 words, in English.
  • Produced automatically after payment. You open it on sajunstar.com with the access link or key shown on your order confirmation and receipt.
  • Read online for 12 months from purchase.
  • Written for you by an AI language model from your calculated chart and our interpretation guide. It is not written by a human reader.

  • For adults 18 and older.
Read two sample passages

A sample of the writing

Two short passages written as a sample, for a made-up birth: September 9, 1999, 10:10 a.m., New York. The chart is not yours, and the passages are not taken from a finished report.

Sample chart: Hour (Gi-Sa) · Day (Gap-Ja) · Month (Gye-Yu) · Year (Gi-Myo). Day Master Yang Wood ( Gap).

Sample passage for part II: The themes of 2027

Saju year (Jeong-Mi) · February 4, 2027, to February 4, 2028, from one Ipchun to the next

(Jeong) is Yin Fire, pictured in Saju as a candle flame. Fire is the element the Day Master's Wood feeds, a relation the tradition links with expression: what a person makes, says and shows. (Mi), the Sheep, is a branch of the Earth element. Earth is the element Wood takes hold of, the way roots hold soil. That relation is linked with practical matters.

Fire in turn feeds Earth, so the two are often read in sequence: something made and shown, then something practical built on it. The other side: both relations point outward from the Day Master, and time for oneself may come second.

A question to sit withWhat do you want to make and show, and what would you build on it?

Sample passage for part III: The year in fourteen periods that follow the Saju months

(Im-In) · February 4 to March 5, 2027 · period 3 of 14

(Im) is Yang Water, the element that feeds Wood. The tradition links that relation with taking things in: study and time to think. (In), the Tiger, is a Wood branch, the same element as the Day Master. That relation is linked with standing on one's own feet and with the company of peers.

The other side: it may be tempting to keep preparing after the preparation is done, or to go it alone when company is close by.

A question to sit withWhat are you learning at the moment, and who is learning beside you?

  • These passages were written in advance with an AI language model, as a sample. No one who practices Saju has checked them.
  • A paid report is written for your own chart. Its wording can differ from this sample, and its passages can be shorter.
  • Each passage reads one pillar against the Day Master, as a paid report does. A fuller Saju reading looks at more relations than that.
  • Periods 1 and 2 fall before Ipchun, when the Saju year changes.
  • Dates in this sample use Coordinated Universal Time (UTC). A report shows them in your device's time zone, so a date can shift by one day.
  • For entertainment and self-reflection. A reading describes tendencies and themes. It does not say what happens next.

What this is, and what it is not

  • It is for entertainment and self-reflection.

A reading describes tendencies and themes. It is not a forecast of events and it does not promise any result.

  • It is not professional advice.

A reading says nothing reliable about your physical or mental condition, a legal matter or your money, and it is not a substitute for a doctor, therapist, lawyer or financial advisor.

  • It is written with AI, and we say so.

The chart is calculated by code. The texts of the free profile were written in advance with an AI language model, and your browser picks the ones that match your chart. A paid report is written for you by an AI language model. Neither comes from a human reader, and no one who practices Saju, astrology or tarot has checked the texts.

  • No chart is a bad chart.

We do not tell anyone their chart is unfortunate, and we do not sell charms, rituals or fixes.

Questions

Is the free profile really free?

Yes. No credit card and no account.

Do you keep my birth details?

Not for the free profile. The calculation runs in your browser, and your birth date, time and city are not sent to our servers. If you start a purchase, we store the birth details you entered so that the report can be produced and shown: for 12 months if you pay, and for no more than 48 hours if you do not. The Privacy Policy has the details.

What if I do not know my birth time?

You can leave it out. You get three pillars instead of four, and we tell you which parts of the reading could change with the time.

Why might my chart differ from another site's?

Calculators follow different conventions. The most common difference is the hour pillar: we use local mean time at the birthplace, which is set by its longitude, and some calculators use clock time. We state the convention we use on your profile page.

Who writes the readings?

AI, not a human reader. The texts of the free profile were written in advance with an AI language model, following our interpretation guide. Your browser picks the ones that match your chart, and nothing is sent to an AI service. A paid report is written for you by an AI language model from your calculated chart and the same guide. The guide was also drafted with AI, and no one who practices these traditions has checked it.

Can I get a refund?

Yes. A full refund within 7 days of purchase, no reason needed. See the Refund and Cancellation Policy.

Which languages and countries?

The site is in English, and the report will be sold internationally. We do not offer it to customers in South Korea at launch.
